What is personal care?
Personal care includes help with daily tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and taking medications. Personal care homes provide a safe, supportive environment where residents can get the help they need—while still enjoying as much independence as possible.
Is your staff licensed?
Yes! Our care team is highly qualified and includes an Registered Nurse (RN) as our Director of Nursing, Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Medication Technicians, and trained Direct Care Staff. A physician visits weekly and is available for follow-up as needed.
How is a personal care home different from a nursing home?
Personal Care Home | Nursing Home |
Help with daily living (bathing, meds) | Full-time nursing and medical care |
Some medical oversight | 24/7 skilled nursing and medical services |
Encourages independence | Designed for those needing continuous care |
Homelike setting | More clinical or hospital-like environment |
Can residents leave the home?
Absolutely. Residents are free to come and go as their health allows. We simply ask that residents (or their companions) sign in and out at the front desk so we can ensure everyone’s safety and well-being.
What about visits from family and friends?
Family and friends are always welcome! We encourage visits, phone calls, and outings to help residents stay connected with their loved ones. There are no strict visiting hours—just a friendly reminder to be respectful of other residents’ quiet times.
Can dietary needs be accommodated?
Yes. We work closely with residents and their healthcare providers to accommodate special dietary needs, including allergies, diabetic-friendly meals, low-sodium options, and other doctor-recommended diets. Our goal is to ensure meals are both nutritious and enjoyable.
What are the dining options—communal or in-room?
We encourage residents to join others in our welcoming communal dining area, which provides a chance to socialize and enjoy meals together. However, in-room dining is available when needed, such as during illness or by special request.
Can I bring my own furniture or decorate my room?
Yes! We welcome you to bring personal furniture and decorations to make your room feel like home. Our staff will work with you to ensure everything fits comfortably and safely in your space.
